A great way to work and learn at the same time
Apprenticeships are work-based courses which involve learning and gaining qualifications while working for an employer. An apprentice works at the employer's premises, gaining practical experience and skills while working towards a level two qualification which is relevant to their job. They will normally work full-time with the employer, with one day per week (during term-time) spent at East Riding College. However, some apprenticeships do not require college attendance and are achieved solely in the workplace.
Preparing for promotion or higher education
Advanced apprenticeships are based around a level three qualification and aim to develop employees further and prepare for future positions such as supervisors, technicians and managers. Many universities and colleges will accept an Advanced Apprenticeship as part of the entry requirements for a degree or diploma course.

How to apply
Firstly, you need to be in suitable employment before you start the programme. To apply you need to complete the on-line full-time application form or fill in the form in the course guide and post it to learner services. If you would like a course guide, you can download one or request one by post.
