Do I qualify for reduced fees?
The following learners may be entitled to pay the reduced fee:

1. Unemployed people in receipt of income-based/contribution Jobseekers Allowance.

hose in receipt of the following:  

  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit (fees may be waived subject to income limits)
  • Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit
  • Pension Guarantee Credits
  • Unwaged dependants (as defined by Jobcentre Plus) of those listed above 

2. Offenders who are serving their sentence in the community.
3. Learners studying programmes where the course is Basic Skills.
4. Asylum seekers in receipt of the equivalent of an income-related benefit, and their dependants.
5. Certain learners participating in funded projects, where identified in the project specification.
6. Learners studying their first full level two qualification.
7. 19 to 25-year-old learners studying their first full level three qualification.

Learners not in the above categories, but who are over 18 and applying for full-time courses at East Riding College, may be eligible to enrol without paying tuition fees.
It is important to bring evidence of entitlement with you as you enrol. The College also has a Learner Support Fund which may be able to assist with travel expenses, books and stationery, childcare and educational visits.

Learners who are not British citizens, do not come from the European Union or are returning from living abroad should phone for details of overseas fees.Learners aged 14 or 15 on 31 August 2008 must be seen by a member of the College's learner services team before they enrol. If your employer is paying your fees, you must have written confirmation from your employer at the time of enrolment.
