Puppets bring road safety messages to life

Students from East Riding College have been learning essential road safety tips with an award-winning puppetry company.
Routes uses an interactive mix of styles, including films, discussion, quizzes and lived puppetry, to communicate messages in a relevant and engaging way to learners, visiting both the Bridlington and Beverley campuses.
Aimed at 14 to 19-year-olds, it features a one-hour presentation for school and college audiences, focussed on road safety issues for young drivers, passengers and pedestrians.

Tracy Underwood, the College’s enrichment officer, said: “I thought the session was really good and very different to anything we have had before.
“With the aid of puppets the road safety message was well delivered and clear.  The puppets interacted with the students which got the crowd involved.”
