Are you the person to lead and develop our successful English, Mathematics and Learning Support curriculum area provision?  East Riding College is looking for an innovative and inspirational leader to drive forward the excellent teaching of Maths, English, Functional Skills and the provision of outstanding learning support within the College.

Responsibilities will include:

  • the planning and development of the English and maths curriculum;
  • ensuring the highest level of quality in teaching, learning and assessment is provided for learners;
  • managing budgets to ensure curriculum delivery is efficient;
  • ensuring the College meets the EFA condition of funding;
  • providing leadership on the allocation and delivery of learning support, including for SEN learners across the College to ensure needs of individual learners are met;
  • leading on the introduction of education, health and care plans across the College including their annual review;
  • ensuring the College is compliant with funding body, local authority and audit requirements relating to Maths and English and Learning Support;
  • playing a key role in contributing to the corporate management of the College.

The Curriculum Area for English, Mathematics and Learning Support covers a range of disciplines including GCSEs, Functional Skills, English and Maths Skills Development, and ESOL.  The area also provide learning support across the College.

If this sounds like you, you must demonstrate curriculum development in further education, and be able to evidence your ability to have maintained high-quality teaching practice; experience of curriculum management of 14-19/19+; be able to analyse critical data and understand funding methodologies to ensure that you are able to develop the curriculum offer in line with national strategies and sector priorities.

You must hold a teaching qualification; a minimum Level 3 qualification in English and/or maths, or literary or numerical subjects; and a degree or equivalent.

You will be required to work at both the Bridlington campus and the new Beverley campus on the Flemingate development which will welcome its first intake of students in September 2015.
