Corporation Members

 

The Corporation has 18 current members with 2 co-opted external members who sit on specific committees.  The balanced membership of the East Riding College Corporation ensures that it has the benefit of views from the communities served by the College; its learners and staff, its local authority and the business community.  The Members of the Corporation are:

Tom Annakin, Student Member – Tom is studying Level 3 Travel and Tourism at the College.

Lesley Archer, Business Member (Vice Chair) - Lesley is a Solicitor with a local company and serves on the Audit, Search, Governance and Development Committees and Chair of the Quality Standards Committee.  She is the nominated governor for Equality and Diversity and Careers Education and Information, Advice and Guidance. 

Benita Boyes, Business Member Benita is the Business Improvement and Assurance Manager at the University of Hull and has significant experience of internal and external audit in the NHS, FE and across the public sector over the last 30 years. Benita is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and is Chair of the Audit Committee.

Salil Datta, Co-opted Member - Salil is a retired eye surgeon and he serves on the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee and is Vice Chair on the Quality Standards Committee

Hannah Dixon, Student Member – Hannah is studying Level 3 Access at the College. 

Kevin Hall, Local Authority Member - Kevin is the Director of Children, Families and Schools for East Riding of Yorkshire Council and has many years of experience working at a senior level in local authorities within their education and children's services.  He is Vice Chair of the Audit Committee.

Kerri Harold, Local Authority Member (Vice Chair) - Kerri is a local Councillor, covering the Minster and Woodmansey Ward. Kerri Chairs the Search, Governance and Development Committee and is the nominated governor for Safeguarding and Prevent. 

Jim Harris, Business Member - Jim is a Retail Property Manager in Hull with extensive experience in the field of facilities, property management and health and safety.  Jim is Vice Chair of the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee, serves on the Quality Standards Committee and is a Business Champion for the College. 

Linda Johnson, Local Community Member - Linda has many years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, latterly as Commercial Director.  More recently Linda has been working as a freelance writer for the Just Beverley magazine.  Linda is Vice Chair of the Search, Governance and Development Committee, serves on the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee and is the nominated governor lead for procurement. 

Tracey Murray, Staff Member - Tracey has worked at the College for many years and is Head of Curriculum for Creative Arts, Performance and IT, based at the Bridlington Campus. 

Viv Parker, Co-opted Member - Viv is Senior Advisor Partnerships at the University of Hull, supporting HE in FE provision, as well as serving on a number of local partnership committees and forums.  Viv serves on the Quality Standards Committee.  She is the nominated governor for Higher Education. 

Waqas Tariq, Local Community Member - Waqas is a serving Police Officer with Humberside Police. Waqas sits on the Quality Standards Committee. 

John Uzzell, Staff Member – John is the Higher Education, Quality and Curriculum Co-Ordinator at the College with 10 years’ experience working within the quality team.

Mike Welsh, Principal - Mike attends all meetings of the Corporation and its committees and is a member of the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee and the Search, Governance and Development Committee (ex-officio). 

Simon Wright, Business Member (Chair) - Simon is owner-director of Communiqué Advertising Limited in Beverley and his professional background lies in marketing. He is Chair of the Corporation and Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee.
