The Corporation has 18 current members with 3 co-opted external members who sit on specific committees. The balanced membership of the East Riding College Corporation ensures that it has the benefit of views from the communities served by the College; its learners and staff, its local authority and the business community.
The Members of the Corporation are:
Lesley Archer, Business Member (Vice Chair) - Lesley is a Solicitor with a local company and serves on the Audit, Search, Governance and Development Committees and Chair of the Quality Standards Committee. She is the nominated governor for Equality and Diversity and Careers Education and Information, Advice and Guidance.
Salil Datta, Co-opted Member - Salil is a retired eye surgeon and he serves on the Quality Standards and Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committees.
Alayna Gipson, Student Member – Alayna has joined the College this year and is studying Level 3 Access to HE, Health Science Professions (Nursing).
Kevin Hall, Local Authority Member - Kevin is the Director of Children, Families and Schools for East Riding of Yorkshire Council and has many years of experience working at a senior level in local authorities within their education and children's services. He serves on the Audit Committee.
Kerri Harold, Local Authority Member (Vice Chair) - Kerri is a local Councillor, covering the Minster and Woodmansey Ward. Kerri Chairs the Search, Governance and Development Committee and the nominated governor for Safeguarding and Prevent.
Jim Harris, Local Authority Member - Jim is a Retail Property Manager in Hull with extensive experience in the field of facilities, property management and health and safety. Jim serves as a Member of the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee and is a Business Champion for the College.
Linda Johnson, Local Community Member - Linda has many years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical industry, latterly as Commercial Director. More recently Linda has been working as a freelance writer for the Just Beverley magazine. Linda serves as a Member of the Search, Governance and Development Committee and the nominated governor lead for procurement.
Tracey Murray, Staff Member - Tracey has worked at the College for many years and is Head of Curriculum for Creative Arts, Performance and IT, based at the Bridlington Campus.
Milly Nicholson, Student Member – Milly has joined the College this year and is studying Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business.
Viv Parker, Co-opted Member - Viv is Senior Advisor Partnerships at the University of Hull, supporting HE in FE provision, as well as serving on a number of local partnership committees and forums. Viv serves on the Quality Standards Committee. She is the nominated governor for Higher Education.
Waqas Tariq, Local Community Member - Waqas is an Assistant Project Manager with Hull City Council currently working on the Hull City’s regeneration projects. Waqas sits on the Quality Standards Committee.
Sarah Timms, Staff Member - Sarah joined the College as an Apprentice and is now the College's Examinations Manager based at our Bridlington Campus.
Vanessa Walker, Local Community Member - Vanessa is an East Riding of Yorkshire Council elected Councilor representing South Hunsley Ward. She has wide experience of working in the NHS, Local Government and the voluntary sector. She serves as a Member of the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee.
Neil Waterhouse, Business Member (Vice Chair) - Neil is a Senior Business Manager with HSBC and has many years of experience in banking and finance. Neil is one of the 3 Vice Chairs of the Board of the Corporation and is the Chair of the Audit and the Search, Governance & Development Committees. Neil is one of the Corporation's nominated employer champions.
Mike Welsh, Principal - Mike attends all meetings of the Corporation and its committees and is a member of the Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee and the Search, Governance and Development Committee (ex-officio).
Simon Wright, Business Member (Chair) - Simon is owner-director of Communiqué Advertising Limited in Beverley and his professional background lies in marketing. He is Chair of the Corporation and Remuneration, Finance and Human Resources Committee. Simon is one of the Corporation's nominated employer champions.
