Basic Conversational Italian for Step 1

To enable learners to use and understand simple statements, expressions and questions in common situations.

What will I study?

This 8 week programmes is designed for people who have no current knowledge of Italian.  It is designed to give you the vocabulary necessary to deal with the following situations:

  • Introducing yourself to others
  • Going shopping
  • Ordering a meal
  • At the railway / bus station
  • Giving and receiving directions

How will I be assessed?

This is a non accredited course with no exam at the end but the tutor will monitor progress and give feedback.

Entry requirements

No prior knowledge is required for this course but if you have attended a short beginners' course, you will be able to build on skills already acquired.

Additional information

The tutor will want to find out as much as possible about why you want to learn and what you already know in order to plan a suitable programme.  The content of the course will be discussed and you will be given further details about course materials and other learning resources.  Any relevant paperwork will be discussed and completed at this session.  Please bring a notebook and pen.
