Diploma in Employment Law
This course is offered in class and online simultaneously.
The course will start 5 October 2022, Term 1 is 5/10/2022 to 14/12/2022, Term 2 is 16/01/2023 to 29/03/2023 and Term 3 is 24/04/2023 to 5/07/2023
What will I study?
This modular course has three sections.
- The Changing Nature of Employment Law:
Reps will study how employment law has changed; the potential for using employment law in support of workplace bargaining; and the limitations of the judiciary.
- Employment Law and the Individual:
This module examines the status, use and enforcement of contracts. How they are made and changed. Do they need to be in writing and many more issues that continue to puzzle reps in the course of their trade union activities.
- Trade Union Collective Rights:
This will help to identify and establish legal standards at work. There have been significant improvements in this area of the law and receive little publicity outside of legal chambers.
