Flower Arranging for Beginners

To provide an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to be able to create floral arrangements for the home. The course may also include basic floristry skills dependant on student interest. 

What will I study?

Students will :

  • Discuss suitability & availability of floral materials and requirements to produce arrangements
  • Learn how to create a range of traditional & contemporary floral arrangements incorporating seasonal materials
  • Produce individual designs - including designs suitable for Autumn & Christmas

How will I be assessed?

This is a non accredited course with no exam at the end but the tutor will monitor progress and give feedback

How will the course be delivered?

Demonstrations and support as and when required on an individual and group basis.

No previous experience is required

Additional information

The tutor will want to find out as much as possible about why you want to learn and what you already know in order to plan a suitable programme.  The content of the course will be discussed and you will be given further details about course materials and other learning resources.  Any relevant paperwork will be discussed and completed at this session.  Please bring a notebook and pen.

For your first session you will need a pair of scissors/secateurs.  You will also be required to pay an additional cost for materials for class purchased by the tutor in the first week. After the first week you will be asked to purchase your own materials.
