The course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to achieve a Grade C in a GCSE Science required for teaching and nursing and for other progression. It is the same course that students study in Y10 and 11 in school, if they study single science Biology.
This course is held at Beverley on Tuesday, 14 September, 6pm to 9pm, Course Code PF064/1 or at Bridlington on Tuesday, 14 September, 9 to 12noon, Course Code PS043/1

What will I study?
The course contains some Human Biology and other basic biology. There is no detailed study of plants.
How will I be assessed?
The course consists of 3 modules and a practical assessment.
- Module 1 is assessed by 2 objective tests (each 30 mins)
- Modules 2 & 3 are assessed by short written papers (each 45 mins)
- Practical work is assessed during course sessions.
No formal requirements, but students need to discuss their previous studies with the tutor before enrolment
The course can lead to AS Biology or Human Biology and is useful for entry to University Courses and for employment
