Introduction to Adobe Illustrator

This course is aimed at people interested producing professional quality desktop publishing products either for business, community or personal use, this course will give a basic introduction starting from the ground up.

What will I study?

The course will cover the following areas:

  • Setting up the document
  • Working with and formatting fonts
  • Working with images within your documents
  • Adding links and interactive elements to your work
  • Exporting your work for print, email and web

How will I be assessed?

This is a non-accredited course with no exam at the end, but the tutor will monitor progress and give feedback and the student will leave with a basic complete, functioning website.

How will the course be delivered?

Tutor-led session using demonstration, opportunities to take notes, repetition and hands-on practice at a steady pace.

Entry requirements

No previous experience is required although a knowledge of the Adobe Software Suite would be helpful.

The tutor will want to find out as much as possible about why you want to learn and what you already know in order to plan a suitable programme and instil the importance of health and safety.  The content of the course will be discussed and you will be given further details about course materials and other learning resources.  Any relevant paperwork will be discussed and completed at this session.  Please bring a notebook and pen.
