Joinery for Beginners

This course will introduce you to the basic tools, techniques and methods required to develop your joinery skills.

What will I study?

  • Basic joints and frames
  • Correct honing techniques
  • Essential maintenance to ensure tools are ready for use

How will I be assessed?

This is a non-accredited course with no exam at the end, but the tutor will monitor progress and give feedback.

How will the course be delivered?

A variety of teaching methods will be used to ensure that learners’ individual needs are met.

Entry requirements

No previous experience required.

For health and safety legislation you will need to wear safety foot wear (steel toe cap  boots / shoes) when attending this course.

The tutor will want to find out as much as possible about why you want to learn and what you already know in order to plan a suitable programme.  The content of the course will be discussed, and you will be given further details about course materials and other learning resources. Any relevant paperwork will be discussed and completed at this session. Please bring a notebook and pen.
