Level One Award in Construction Skills (including CSCS test)

The course is designed for people with no previous experience but are wanting to enter the construction industry.

What will I study?

This qualification is designed to enable learners to be able to perform vocationally relevant tasks in the following disciplines:

  • Hanging Doors
  • Fixing Architrave
  • Fixing Skirting Boards
  • Fixing shelves
  • Fitting ironmongery
  • Hand and power tool usage
  • Plumbing for a sink
  • Fitting rainwater goods such as guttering
  • CSCS Test

How will I be assessed?

This qualification is practically based and has a short practical test at the end to help evidence a degree of competence. Also, a short multi-choice paper is included.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you must have:

  • Successful interview
  • Satisfactory record of achievement/references

What next?

This course provides learners with the opportunity to experience several aspects within the traditional craft occupations within the construction industry. Successful completion of this course should provide learners with a clear vocational pathway choice and enable them to decide which is most suitable depending on personal preference.
