Level One Award in Basic Construction

This course is an opportunity to gain basic knowledge about the skilled area you have decided to study. It allows all participants to chance to gain a start in their chosen skilled trade by introducing you to the basics. The course reduces the uncertainty of learning hand skills and answers any questions you may have on “how do I?". Upon your successful completion, you will be invited to progress onto the Level One Certificate course, where your newly learned skills will be stretched further.

This course is offered on Monday 17 September, 6pm to 9pm at Beverley or Tuesday 18 September, 6pm to 9pm at Beverley or Bridlington or Thursday 20 September, 6pm to 9pm at Bridlington.

What will I study?

Level One Award basic construction (Carpentry & Joinery, Bricklaying, Plumbing, Electrical):

  • Use of basic hand tools
  • Setting out for basic tasks
  • Safe working practices
  • Correct tooling use
  • Improving dexterity skills

What next?

On successful completion of the level one course, you could progress onto the Level Two Diploma in Bricklaying.
