Level Three Core Maths
If you have achieved your GCSE Maths then why not consider taking your Maths skills one step further?
The topics covered as part of the Core Maths course can be applied on a day-to-day basis, whether in work, study or life. The qualification includes a financial mathematics element and can also help with other A-level subjects. This qualification can also be used as a stepping stone towards A-level Maths.
Studying a Core Math qualification can help top up your UCAS points by adding an additional 6-20 points depending on your grade. The course runs over a year and is designed to maintain and develop real-life mathematical skills
What will I study?
Core Maths will extend your knowledge of data analysis, estimation and maths for personal finance and introduce you to exciting concepts of normal distribution, correlation and regression.
How will I be assessed?
This course is assessed by 100 per cent examination.
Entry requirements
- GCSE grade 4 or above
- Successful interview demonstrating motivation and commitment to the course and an initial assessment
What next?
Successful students may wish to progress onto A-level Maths or a higher education course.
