Level Three Plate Welder Apprenticeship
A Plate Welder will work individually or as part of a team to manually weld plates and structural components to high standards of quality. This will involve fabrication, construction or repair of fabricated plate assemblies, extrusions and structural components. As part of the apprenticeship, a number of knowledge, skills and behaviours will be taught centred around plate welding which will prepare learners for their end point assessment. These include meeting international standards, dealing with problems, using appropriate documentation, taking responsibility for decision-making, reflecting on performance, and understanding risks.
What will I study?
- Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technologies
- Knowledge, skills and behaviours based around plate welding in preperation for the end point assessment
How will I be assessed?
A range of on-screen multiple-choice examinations and centre marked practical/theory assessments.
Entry requirements
A 3/D grade GCSE in English and Maths
Level 2 Engineering qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
What next?
You could progress onto the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Engineering.
