Level Two Diploma in Engineering and Technology
This qualification focuses on practical skills and knowledge. This ensures that when the learner completes the qualification, they will have gained practical experience and understand the expectations of the situations that they could face in a job role within the engineering sector.
What will I study?
- Engineering environment awareness
- Engineering techniques
- Engineering principles
- Engineering maintenance techniques
- Turning and milling techniques and technology
- Understanding computer-aided drawing
Optional units includes:
- Electrical and electronic principles
- Fabrication and welding principles
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a range of techniques to include, observation of carrying out practical activities in workshops, oral questioning, written reports and on line testing.
How will the course be delivered?
Full time study programme over three days per week including English and mathematics development, enrichment and enterprise.
Entry requirements
- Four GCSEs grade at grade C / 4 or above
- Or level one diploma
- Or introductory diploma
- Or NVQ level one
- Or equivalent
Applications from mature students without the above qualifications are welcomed and will be considered on an individual basis.
What next?
This qualification helps you go on to more advanced courses such as the Level Three EAL Diploma in Engineering and Technology.
