Level Two Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes (Distance Learning)
This qualifcation aims to provide the learner with an understanding of the different types of diabetes and how these occur. The learners will also develop awareness of how the onset of type two diabetes can be delayed with lifestyle changes. Through the course, learners will also develop an understanding of diabetes diagnosis, initial care, ongoing care and the treatment of diabetes used to control blood sugar levels.
What will I study?
This course is split into two parts consisting of four units:
- Unit one: Understanding diabetes
- Unit two: Prevention and early intervention of type two diabetes
- Unit three: Understanding the initial care of diabetes
- Unit four: Understanding the treatment and management of diabetes
How will I be assessed?
Each candidate will receive their own learning pack which includes learning resources/ information booklets and paper-based assessments, one for each part. Candidates must complete all assessments in the agreed timescales and submit these for marking. Your tutor will then provide feedback, advice and guidance to help you successfully complete the course.
There are no formal entry requirements.
For learners who are not in employment some level three courses are available please discuss with your assessor. For those who complete the course in order to gain employment you could progress to the Level Two Diploma in Health and Social Care.
