Level Two Leadership and Teamwork

This course will help you develop the knowledge and skills required to work effectively in a team and will help you develop leadership capability.  Whatever your long term career goal is, this programme is an excellent starting point because the knowledge and skills can be applied anywhere.

Effective teamwork is an essential part of every successful organisation – whether it be manufacturing, construction, finance, public services or the military.  Employers need people who can work together, understand the importance of tem goals and communicate effectively.

What will I study?

You will explore the essential qualities for effective team working:

  • Different methods of communication
  • How to do deal with difficult situations
  • How to develop positive working relationships with your colleagues
  • The importance of working safely
  • The importance of respecting equality and diversity in the workplace and how businesses use teams to best effect

Practical activities will help you practice and develop leadership skills, as well as building your personal confidence.

If you are aged between 16 – 18 you will also do work experience to help you develop your skills further. 

If you are aged between 16 – 18  and have not achieved a GCSE grade 3 in English and Maths then you will also study these subjects.

How will the course be delivered?

Delivery will be a blend of online learner and classroom input.  You will be able to work on your online learning packages in the classroom and also from home.  Practical classroom and outdoor activities will give you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the teamworking and leadership skills you have acquired.

Entry requirements

4 x Grade 3 GCSE’s – preferably including Maths and English.

Interviews for full time courses starting in September are postponed, but don't worry - applicants will instead be given a formal offer of a place on a suitable course. Other entry requirements still apply.

What next?

One of the benefits of this programme is that it gives you time to decide what you really want to do long term.  It will prepare you well for Apprenticeships in Business Administration, Customer Service, Retail, Logistics and Warehousing.   You could also choose to undertake a specific vocational route such as Media, Construction, Hospitality or Early Years.  If the leadership aspect of the course has inspired you there are clear progression pathways into Business, Travel or Public Services.
