Negotiation techniques

This course has been designed to enhance and develop the skills of Reps operating at all levels of the employment relations structure. It is aimed at both Reps with little or no experience in dealing with difficult situations and more skilled Reps who already have some negotiating experience. 

What will I study?

The course will introduce learners to:

  • The concept of emotional intelligence
  • Develop and enhance their ability to deal with intimidating behaviour
  • Improve their skills in practical bargaining and negotiating
  • Develop a better understanding of how their behaviour and approach to negotiating can affect outcomes, and better understand the importance and effects of ‘non-verbal communication’.
