East Riding College is Awarded the Matrix Quality Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance
9th June 2006 9:23am - Return to press releases
The Learner Services department of East Riding College has recently been awarded with the prestigious Matrix Quality Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance Services.
The Matrix standard is the nationally qualified standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work, which replaces the original National Quality Standards for Learning and Work.
The Matrix standard consists of eight elements - four focusing on how the company delivers its service and four focusing on how the company manages its service.
The Matrix assessor visited the College in early April and interviewed staff and learners, observed individual and group guidance sessions, spoke to colleagues in partner agencies and reviewed the Colleges documentation and quality systems. Many strengths were identified including "the commitment and enthusiasm by staff to provide the learners with the best possible service" and "staff going the extra mile".
Ann Yates, Director of Learner Services said "I'm absolutely delighted that the information, advice and guidance that we provide has been recognised as being of the very highest quality. We know that our service is a good one and it's marvellous to have this confirmed by Matrix."
If there are any school leavers who are unsure about what options are available to them or any adult learners who may be considering enrolling on a course at the College and would like to receive advice, please contact Learner Services on 0845 1200037 and ask to speak to one of our Guidance Officers.
