East Riding College Tutor Scoops Top Award

Maria Rounding, a Languages Tutor from East Riding College won a prestigious QIA Star Award, at the glittering national STAR awards ceremony held in London on Monday evening. Maria won her award in the Outstanding FE Practitioner category. As part of the prize Maria received £2000, a certificate of achievement and a trophy.
The Awards are to recognise the nominees for their outstanding contribution to quality and learning.
There are 17 categories with nominations coming from adult education institutions, the private and voluntary sector, Further Education Colleges, UK Online Centres and Sixth Form colleges
Lesley Kelly, Head of Curriculum Area for Humanities said "Maria Rounding really goes that extra mile for her learners and the College. Maria is an inspiration to the department, her drive, energy and enthusiasm to develop, and share good practice and inspire the learner are exemplary".
