East Riding College Staff Clock up 129 Years

Staff at East Riding College are presented with awards for Long Service.

5 members of staff at East Riding College have jointly worked at the College for 129 years.

Friends and colleagues gathered to celebrate the long service awards with a presentation by Principal, Derek Branton. The employees involved were, Vernon Blanshard, Multi Media Technician, Steve Cundy, Strategic Information Manager, Nigel Hutchings, IT Lecturer, John Simpson, Engineering Lecturer & Veronica Williamson, Catering Supervisor.

Derek Branton, College Principal said? This is a tremendous achievement and I am delighted to have such committed staff. The world of further education is very fast moving, requiring staff to be adaptable and responsive to change which these employees have achieved?.

There have been significant changes at the College during the last 25 years. The sites have grown providing modern buildings with state of the art technology. Employment has increased.
Steve Cundy, Strategic Information Manager said ?When I commenced employment at Beverley College there were 2 administration staff, compared to 50 now?.

In 2002 Beverley College merged with East Yorkshire College at Bridlington forming East Riding College, with sites at Beverley and Bridlington. Both sites are presently awaiting redevelopment to radically transform the College and further education facilities.
