Students Film Business

Students from East Riding College have been invited to film local businesses in preparation for the Bridlington Business Awards 2007.

Broadcaster, Helen Philpot, is to compare the awards ceremony which will be held at the Revelstoke Hotel, Bridlington on Wednesday 17 October 2007.

The second year students studying on the Foundation Degree in Applied Digital Media filmed a three minute video clip to complement each business entry. They talked with the employees, viewed the premises and then with their knowledge and skills already gained filmed the video clip.

There were four award categories: Best New Business, Best Small Business, Best Medium/Large Business and a special award by nomination for the business that has done the most for Bridlington.

The sponsors included Nat West Bank, Lloyds TSB Bank, W Boyes & Co Ltd and Lloyd Dowson Chartered Accountants.

Gareth Sykes, Course Tutor said ?This is a fantastic opportunity for the students to enhance their awareness of the working environment, gain an understanding of the social impact of digital media, increase their experience with a live brief within the work place and implement all of their skills in a multimedia showcase?.
