Tom Turner achieves Microsoft Office Master Instructor Certificate in record time.

East Riding College IT student, Tom Turner, has achieved the Microsoft Office Master Instructor Certificate in record time.

Tom, aged 17 from Blacktoft, has completed this qualification whilst currently studying on the BTEC National Certificate IT Practitioners (Software Development) course. He has also taken additional studies in European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in ICT Systems Support and Microsoft Office Specialist.

The Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor certification is for individuals who are, or aspire to be, teachers or trainers on the world's leading business productivity suite?Microsoft Office.

Steve Edwards, course tutor said, ?This is an excellent achievement and represents outstanding performance in using Microsoft Office XP. Tom has achieved virtually the maximum possible outcomes in all study areas in particular the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS).

?Tom hopes to convert the Microsoft Office Master certificate status to Master Instructor status by virtue of work experience in his father?s IT consultancy business?.

As a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor Tom will be recognised for his skill and hands?on ability with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Outlook.

Tom said, ?My time at East Riding College has been a fantastic experience and one that I could not have achieved without the support of the College tutors?.

Tom was also presented with a Merit Award at the College?s Annual Awards Ceremony for his outstanding performance in his subject.
