Open event on management foundation degree

26th May 2009 12:40pm - Return to press releases

People who want to progress in their career can find out more about a business management course at East Riding College during an open evening in June.
The informal drop-in session will allow prospective students to talk one-to-one to tutors about the Foundation Degree in Business Management, which the College runs in partnership with the University of Hull.
It will be held at the College's campus in Gallows Lane, Beverley, from 6pm to 8pm on June 16.

The evening will feature a number of activities:

  • A presentation about the content and requirements of the course
  • The chance to do activities like those in the course itself
  • The chance to arrange an interview to secure a place on the course
  • Refreshments and the opportunity to talk to other potential students

Course tutor Ann Churnin said: "The Foundation Degree in Business Management is an excellent way of getting a practical qualification with real relevance to the world of work.
"This open evening will be a chance for people who are interested in the course to find out what it entails and if it's right for them."

The Foundation Degree in Business Management is a three-year, part-time course which runs at the College's Beverley campus and concentrates on producing people capable of managing across a broad range of private or public sector organisations.  Aimed at those already in employment, the course is designed to enhance existing work-based practices. It will also develop new skills of management, leadership and professionalism.
Modules include marketing, organisational behaviour, financial management, managerial decision making and human resource management.
