Special sessions make enrolment easy
21st August 2009 3:56pm - Return to press releases
A number of fast track enrolment events will be held early in September for people who would like to take a part-time course at East Riding College.
The special sessions will allow prospective students to go through the full enrolment process - including getting advice from tutors and having an interview, where necessary - all in one go.
Normally, people have to make an appointment to see a tutor and to have an interview, if the course they are interested in requires an interview.
Learner services manager Lynn Smith said: "These sessions will allow people who are interested in taking a course to find out more and enrol quickly and simply.
"Tutors will be on hand to answer any questions people may have and to conduct interviews, and our guidance officers will be able to offer advice on a wide range of subjects, such as careers, transport and childcare."
The College runs part-time courses in the following areas: Accounting; Art, Design and Media; Business and Administration; Construction; Early Years, Health and Social Care; Entry level programmes; First aid; GCSEs and AS levels; Hair and Beauty; Health and Safety; Information Technology; Key and Basic Skills; Languages; Management; Motor Vehicle and Engineering; Professional; Retail Skills; Short courses; Trade Union Studies; Training and Development.
The enrolment sessions will be held at the campuses in Gallows Lane, Beverley, and St Mary's Walk, Bridlington, as follows:
- Wednesday, September 2, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm
- Thursday, September 3, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm
- Saturday, September 5, from 10am to 1pm
- Wednesday, September 9, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm
- Saturday, September 12, from 10am to 1pm
Anyone who would like to enrol for courses which do not require an interview can simply enrol at reception during opening hours. To find out which courses require an interview, request a part-time prospectus by calling 0845 120 0037 or visiting www.eastridingcollege.ac.uk, where you can request one by post or download one. Courses which require an interview are marked (i).
