The Multi-skills Construction Units programme at the College's new £17m Bridlington campus can help anyone who is hopeless with a hammer and rubbish with a wrench to carry out their own basic home improvements.
The short course aims to give people the skills they need to carry out simple carpentry, joinery, brick and blockwork, plastering, tiling, and domestic electrical and plumbing tasks.
As well as boosting the knowledge of DIY enthusiasts, it is also suitable for unskilled workers who need some basic training in a range of disciplines.
Potential activities include kitchen installations, changing and fitting door ironmongery, building garden walls or masonry repairs.

Head of construction Ian Frear said: "This course is perfect for people who want to know the tools and tricks of the trade when it comes to tasks like hanging a door or building a low wall.
"If you have a specific project in mind, we can help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to buy the right materials and carry out the task safely and to a good standard.
"We can also give people skills in a broad range of disciplines if they simply want to learn more about construction."

This course takes place for three hours each on Mondays and Thursdays over six weeks per unit. Start dates are flexible and each course will begin when enough people have enrolled.
As well as teaching people how to carry out tasks, the course will cover the Health and Safety at Work Act, requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER), the specific risks associated with various types of construction tasks and the setting up and carrying out procedures in specified tasks.
