2nd March 2010 3:32pm - Return to press releases
East Riding College will be welcoming prospective students and members of the public during special open Saturdays this month.
The College's main campuses in Beverley and Bridlington will open their doors so people can participate in a range of fun and interesting activities while finding out about courses they are interested in.
Prospective students of all ages will be able to meet tutors and find out how our full-time, part-time and higher education courses can help them get the job they have always wanted or a place at their first choice university.
Visitors will be able to see the College's fantastic facilities in use, enjoy coffee and cakes, get tips on safety checking cars and visit the working hair and beauty salons, which are to open specially on these Saturdays alone.
People are welcome to bring their children to find out more about mixing learning and play, try their hand at art and crafts and have a go at Wii Fit.
They will be held as follows:
- Gallows Lane, Beverley on 13 March, 10am to 1pm
- St Mary's Walk, Bridlington on 20 March, 10am to 1pm
Principal Derek Branton (pictured) said: "We are really looking forward to opening our doors to prospective students and members of the public and showing them what East Riding College has to offer.
"These special open days will showcase what parts of the College look like in action and enable people to get a taste of the fascinating things they could be learning here.
" There will be tutors present from all subject areas who will answer questions and chat about the courses, as well as help with completing application forms."
Anyone who would like to try the range of hair and beauty treatments on offer should call 01482 306667 (Beverley campus) or 01262 455044 (Bridlington campus) beforehand to make an appointment. Some walk-in appointments may be available on the day.
