Students' prepare for performance at Hull Truck Theatre

8th April 2010 1:48pm - Return to press releases

Foundation students from East Riding College have been working with Hull Truck Theatre to create a performance of the play The Whole Truth.
The play will be performed on May 7 at 6.30pm in Hull Truck's studio in Ferensway, Hull.  The project was developed with the theatre's outreach and education department, Inter@ct, as part of the students' "enrichment" sessions, the name for extra curricular activities.
Laura-Anne Shepherd, the Inter@ct assistant at Hull Truck, has been delivering acting and performance skills workshops in the College since October last year.
The Whole Truth is about a group of teenagers at school who are instructed by their teacher to make a mock courtroom trial.  The teenagers use their own experiences of the law to re-enact the trial, which has unforeseen consequences.

Tutor Sarah Preston said: "This is already turning out to be a wonderful experience for our students and they are learning so much and developing a lot of confidence by taking part.
"They are having a great time in rehearsals and are really looking forward to the night of the performance.
"I'm hoping we'll have a lot of East Riding College staff and students in the audience supporting our learners"

Laura-Anne said "This has been a fantastic project to have been involved in.  The group are so talented and creative, they have all been such a pleasure to work with."
Tickets are free of charge and can be booked with Hull Truck's Box Office on 01482 323638 or by emailing [email protected]
