4th October 2010 4:23pm - Return to press releases

Photo. Derek Branton, Principal.JPGProspective students can find out more about courses on offer at East Riding College at three open events this month. The open events are a chance to talk to tutors, find out more about courses and have a look round the College's buildings. They are suitable for school leavers and adults, whether they are considering a full-time, part-time or higher education course.

They will be held as follows:

  • Tuesday, October 12, 4pm to 7pm at St Mary's Walk, Bridlington
  • Tuesday, October 19, 4pm to 7pm at Gallows Lane, Beverley

For music courses, an open event will be held at the College's site in St James Street, Hull city centre, on Tuesday, October 19, from 4pm to 7pm.

Principal Derek Branton said: "At this time of year, many people are already thinking about their next steps in education to advance their career and improve their qualifications.
"Our open events are an opportunity to meet our friendly tutors and guidance staff, take in the surroundings and look at our excellent facilities.
"Come along whether you know what you want to do and simply want to find out more, or if you need to talk to someone about your future direction."

There will be tutors present from all subject areas who will answer questions and chat about the courses, as well as help with completing application forms. Visitors will be able to take a look at the excellent IT facilities which have benefited from a recent £1.5m investment in the latest information learning technologies and virtual learning environments at the Beverley and Bridlington campuses. People who go to the Bridlington event will be able to see the new £17m campus, which opened in September 2009.
