Book quickly for European charity evening

22nd December 2010 11:44am - Return to press releases

A group of East Riding College travel and tourism students are organising a European-themed evening to raise funds for the Make a Wish Foundation.
On January 13, Archers Restaurant at the St Mary's Walk campus in Bridlington will host a three-course feast with dishes from popular holiday destinations across the continent, as well as games and quizzes.
The event is being organised by Lenita Hicken, 20, Lauren Batchelor, 18, Victoria Greenheld, 18, and Melissa Neary, 19, as part of their BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism, with support from catering and hospitality students and staff, who devised the menu and will create and serve the dishes.

Lenita said: "Our European evening is going to be a great night and the students and staff at Archers Restaurant have come up with a fantastic menu of dishes from our favourite holiday destinations.
"We're encouraging people to book quickly because the College's themed evenings are very popular and interest for this one is already high.
"The Make a Wish Foundation does a lot of good work with terminally ill children so please come along and support us on January 13."

Dishes on the menu include:

  • A starter of goat's cheese and sun dried tomato tart
  • Mains of fillet of Cod wrapped in cabbage leaves, with a ragout of mixed beans and chorizo or lamb kleftiko
  • Desserts of chocolate amoretti pudding and crema Catalana

The meal costs £20 per head and proceeds will be donated to Make A Wish Foundation, which helps terminally ill children live out their dreams. To book a table, call Archers Restaurant on 01262 458875 or visit in person at lunch time. Places are limited.
