Find out more about your future at open events
5th May 2011 10:58am - Return to press releases
East Riding College will open its doors to prospective students and visitors at a series of events this month.
The open events are a chance to talk to tutors, find out more about courses and have a tour of the College's excellent learning facilities. They are suitable for school leavers and adults, whether they are considering a full-time, part-time or higher education course.
They will be held as follows:
- Saturday, May 14, from 9.30am to noon at St Mary's Walk, Bridlington
- Saturday, May 21, from 9.30am to noon at Gallows Lane, Beverley
For music courses, an open event will be held at the College's site in St James Street, Hull city centre, on Saturday, May 21, from 9.30am to noon.
Principal Derek Branton (pictured) said: "This is the time of year when people of all ages are really turning their attention to the next academic year and the next step in their education or career.
"The open events are a chance to find out more about East Riding College and, as Ofsted said recently, the exceptional progress students make with us."
There will be tutors present from all subject areas who will answer questions and chat about the courses, as well as help with completing application forms. Visitors will be able to take a look at the excellent IT facilities which have benefited from a recent £1.5m investment in the latest information learning technologies and virtual learning environments at the Beverley and Bridlington campuses. People who go to the Bridlington event will be able to see the new £17m campus, which opened in September 2009.
