The BTEC Level Four Higher National Certificate in Business is ideal for people who already run or plan to set up their own business.
It is a highly regarded qualification which is being introduced at East Riding College's Bridlington campus from March at an introductory price of £99 per year over two years.
It gives learners an in-depth understanding of key concepts in business which can be put to use in a wide variety of job roles.

Mark Keen, assistant director at the College, said: "This is a specialist work-related programme of study which covers key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the business sector.
"These include marketing principles, managing financial resources, decision-making, organisations and behaviour. A range of potential optional units include business strategy and human resource management."

Classes for the course will be held once a week on Thursdays from 5.30pm to 9pm. People who successfully complete the course could move on to the Higher National Diploma in Business, which has specialist routes in accounting, management, marketing, human resources and law. Alternative progression could be onto second year of a degree programme.
