Bands take part in jubilee event

Female music student playing guitarVocalists and bands from East Riding College’s performing musician courses have been selected to perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee events in Hessle on Monday, June 4.
The six acts will take to the main stage as part of the festivities between 3pm and 10pm which will be running on three stages along the foreshore.
Tutor Martin Jones said: “It’s a real honour to be chosen to perform with a great range of excellent musicians as part of the Queen’s diamond jubilee events at Hessle foreshore.
“Our bands, duos and individual performers have been practising hard and are really excited about getting on stage on Monday.”

The East Riding College acts performing are:

  • We are nameless (band)
  • Hannah Hopper and Lewis Jackson (guitar and vocalist)
  • Leon Morris (pianist/vocalist)
  • Sour Apple Splash (band)
  • Mark Rowland (guitar/vocalist)
  • The Raging Ragers (band)

The Monday afternoon gala forms part of three days of celebrations on the north and south banks of the River Humber. It will feature a folk and sea shanty stage, HEYOP! (Hull and East Yorkshire Orchestra Pals)and East Riding College stage and a FRUIT stage, with an eclectic mix of folk and indie music. There will also be family fun, street performers, beer tent and international food rodeo, with a flotilla of 60 vessels passing beneath the Humber Bridge at about 6.30pm.
