14th October 2013 5:11pm - Return to press releases

Employers and individuals from across the region are invited to a free information evening and presentation about welding at East Riding College’s Bridlington campus next week.
The event, from 7pm on October 24, will be an opportunity to find out more about career progression in welding and the training grants available to organisations.
It will feature a talk by Chris Eady from The Welding Institute (TWI), the industry’s professional body, about career progression.
East Riding College staff will be on hand to discuss the welding courses on offer and to advise on the grants available to organisations who take on apprentices.
Welding equipment manufacturer Technical Arc Services of York will be present to discuss a range of machinery.
Roger McTurk, engineering curriculum leader at the College, said: “This event is an opportunity for people working in manufacture, fabrication and a range of other sectors to meet up with the TWI and the College and to find out more about professional development within welding.
“Individuals can learn about the training courses we offer while businesses can discuss improving skill levels in their workforce.”
