9th January 2014 11:43am - Return to press releases

Local businesses are invited to a free seminar at East Riding College in Bridlington which will help them take advantage of social media.
The event, which will focus on the potential benefits of a range of social media platforms, aims to help unravel the mysteries of social media and to stimulate discussion of current practices and trends.
Gareth Sykes, head of art, media and design at the College, said: “It is increasingly important for businesses of all sizes to invest time into social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+, and to realise the potential benefits. This seminar will demystify social media and explore its uses in all types of business.”
The seminar will take place from 4pm to 6.30pm on Tuesday, January 28 at the College’s campus in St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington. It will include talks from Andy Hayes, a Google expert and founder of Beverley-based web specialists Indicoll, and Adam Corkett, lecturer in interactive media and web development at the College.
The seminar will look at topics such as the relevance of social media in context, techniques for raising brand awareness, and social media as a method for conducting market research, driving sales and measuring customer satisfaction. The seminar will be followed by a networking event, with refreshments provided.
There are 30 places available. To register, call Adam Corkett on 0845 120 0037 or email [email protected]
