Motorbike donations spur students on

16th April 2014 12:40pm - Return to press releases

Motorcycle maintenance students at East Riding College are developing their skills on four new bikes, thanks to donations from major manufacturers.
Yamaha has provided the College with an FZ8 motorbike and a range of parts, including carburettors, fuel injectors, alternators, starter motors and front forks. Suzuki has donated SV650 and GSR600 bikes and a quad bike.
The donations add to the wide range of machines the learners already have to work on in the industry standard workshops at the St Mary’s Walk campus in Bridlington.

Tutor Mike Farline said: “These donations are excellent additions at our workshops and we’re really grateful to Yamaha and Suzuki.
“It’s important to have new bikes because the students are working on the kind of technology that they would be expected to work on in industry. It also spurs them on when they are working on new equipment.”

East Riding College runs a range of motorcycle courses at its Bridlington campus and motor vehicle maintenance courses at both its Beverley and Bridlington campuses. For more information, go to www.eastridingcollege.ac.uk or call 0845 120 0037.
