28th May 2014 5:59pm - Return to press releases
A range of free activities will be taking place at East Riding College next month for adults who are thinking of learning for their career or for fun.
The classes are to be held as part of Adult Learners’ Week, which runs from June 14 to 20 and encourages adults of all ages to learn something new with a view to going on to further study.
There will be activities in access to higher education, brickwork, business administration, catering, customer service, engineering, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), joinery, literacy and numeracy, photo manipulation, and retail and business across the campuses in Gallows Lane, Beverley, and St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington, and the site in St James Street, Hull.
Guidance services manager Melanie Brown (pictured) said: “Adult Learners’ Week is the UK’s largest annual celebration of learning and involves thousands of events and activities nationwide so we’re really pleased to be putting on our widest selection of tasters ever.
“These free taster classes are an excellent opportunity to dip your toe in the water and see if you would like to take it to the next level by accessing one of our wide range of courses starting in September, whether it’s as a hobby or to improve your CV with a formal qualification.”
