Macmillan benefits from fundraising activities

Students at East Riding College’s Bridlington campus have raised almost £120 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Learners from the Skills for Working Life course held a number of fundraising events throughout the year, including a cake sale and tombola.

Tutor Ronny Risley said: “All the students have done a great job over the year to raise money for Macmillan.
“It’s good experience to take responsibility for organising and running these fundraising events and we’re all really pleased to be able to make a donation to such a deserving cause.”

Sally Millington, senior fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to all of the students for all of the hard work that they have put in to supporting Macmillan.
“Their fundraising has been a huge success and all of the hard work that they have done behind the scenes has helped to raise such a wonderful amount.
“The money they have raised will allow Macmillan to help people facing one of the toughest fights of their lives. Thank you to all of them for their support.”

East Riding College is now accepting applications for courses starting in September. For more information or to apply, go to www.eastridingcollege.ac.uk or call 0845 120 0037.
