East Riding College’s Energy Technology Centre (ETC) has won a prestigious trophy at a “green” awards ceremony.
The ETC won the Excellence in Renewables Skills and Training at the Hull Daily Mail’s Humber Renewables and Green Awards, held at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel in Willerby.
Judges praised the College’s clear and visible commitment to the development of regional renewables skills for both students and employers.
Judges also highlighted the co-operative projects with business that have demonstrated a determination to assist with the growth and development of the region’s businesses.
ETC manager Richard Webster (pictured, left) said: “This is an excellent accolade for the ETC and the College, and reward for the work we have been doing over recent years to help prepare young people, adults and business for growth in the energy sector.
“The awards ceremony was an excellent event and it was clear from speakers and the descriptions of the award winners that a lot is now happening in the energy sector in the Humber region and I feel proud that we are a part of that.”
