Celebrity stylist Patrick Cameron opens new Beverley salons

6th November 2015 2:01pm - Return to press releases

Celebrity hair stylist Patrick Cameron inspired students at East Riding College when he officially opened the salons at the new Beverley campus.
Patrick, renowned as the hairdresser’s hairdresser and a passionate educator, chatted with students and staff before demonstrating and presenting a range of styles.
His visit was made possible through hair and beauty product manufacturer Wella, who designated the College’s Inspire Hair and Beauty salons as a Wella Professionals Centre of Excellence.

Patrick said: “I’m delighted to be here today to officially open the Inspire Hair and Beauty salons in this wonderful new College building.
“Outstanding facilities like these and this excellent location really inspire students to step up and be the best that they can be in their career.
“I thoroughly enjoyed talking to the students and hearing about their ambitions and meeting the staff who do such a great job of passing on their skills and knowledge.”

Patrick Cameron is highly respected for his work with long hair and travels the world to share and present his classic and contemporary collections.
John Doris, Vice Principal for the College, said: “We are so grateful to have someone as highly respected and as passionate about education as Patrick here to open the salons.
“He is clearly an inspiration to the students and the staff, and it has been fantastic to watch him get involved with everyone and make time for all who wanted to speak with him.”

Students on hair and beauty courses at the College learn by working on paying customers at the Inspire Hair and Beauty salons, which are open to the public.
Both salons, at the new Beverley campus and the Bridlington campus, which opened in 2009, featuring industry standard facilities to ensure customers are given a high street experience.

One student who spoke to Patrick was Jonathan McCarthy, 33, who in September began a level two hairdressing course.
Previously an engineer who fixed diggers, he chose hairdressing after becoming a single dad and the death of his boss left him out of work for a year.
He said: “Patrick said to me that I just need to get my hand-eye co-ordination and it’ll fall into place from there.
“Now that I know he was in his 20s when he started and to see how far he has got, that really inspires me.”
