College recognised for outstanding customer service

The College achieved the Government-led standard after a rigorous process designed to look in detail at areas that are a priority for customers and lead to efficient, effective and equitable services. The standard measures professionalism and staff attitude as well as how the organisation develops customer insight, attains customer satisfaction, provides information and meets the customers’ needs.
Client Services and Enrichment Manager Lesley Hawkins said: “I’m really pleased that we have secured the Customer Service Excellence award once again gaining 3 additional compliance plus points. Working towards the standard enables us to strive towards constant improvements and ensures our customers (whether they be learners or employers) are our priority. In particular, the assessor highlighted our commitment to students, which exceeded the standard, was exceptional practice and was an exemplarfor others.”
Assessor Mick Lynch said, “During my many visits to assess East Riding College Learner Services I have always found the staff to be highly motivated, very student-focussed and have a pride in the College. Having spoken to several students over the years, there is no doubt that East Riding College always endeavour to put the students at the heart of everything that it does. Effective leadership and management ensures that effective strategies for teaching and learning are supported by incredibly passionate teams who have a cogent desire to help the students during their time at the College.”
