College provides 'Ideal' training for modular builders

East Riding College helped Carnaby-based Ideal Building Systems Ltd access funding to put 26 of their team through NVQs in Innovative Modern Methods in Construction and Site Carpentry.

 The Bridlington-based modular building company, which specialises in high quality bespoke modular and offsite accommodation are known for their quality and a workforce ideology that goes ‘above and beyond’ for clients. 

Paul Coates, Managing Director for the company said, “We’re proud to invest in our team of highly skilled professionals. Working with the College on accessing funding to train in Innovative Modern Methods of Construction in particular was ideal for our business as it is perfect for our industry and keeps our workforce a step ahead.”

 Gary Simm, Head of Curriculum for Construction and Engineering at East Riding College said, “Ideal Building Systems should be applauded for going out of their way to upskill individuals working at their factory in Carnaby.  They’re providing skills that are not only essential to their business’ growth but also help the industry as a whole thrive.”

The training was funded by the Skills Support for the Workforce, a programme to support small and medium-sized enterprises with their business growth plans by upskilling their existing workforce.
