Hundreds Flock to Bridlington Futures

East Riding College hosted Bridlington’s biggest jobs fair this week as part of its ongoing St Mary’s Walk 10 year anniversary celebrations.

The Bridlington Futures event, which was held on Tuesday 19th February saw 50 employers from Bridlington and beyond come to the College to fill their vacancies and promote other opportunities.   Over 400 visitors attended the jobs fair, where they could also find out about careers, education, training and volunteering opportunities.

The event was co-hosted by Job Centre Plus and officially opened by the Mayor Cllr Colin Croft and Mayor’s Consort Shelagh Finlay.

Cllr Croft said, “We’re delighted to be here to witness the working partnerships that East Riding College and Job Centre Plus have established to put on this jobs fair for the people of Bridlington and the surrounding areas.  We are also delighted to reinforce the partnership between Bridlington Town Council and East Riding College as it celebrates its tenth year at its St Mary’s Walk campus, and to be part of the Challenge Bridlington working group.”

Dave Waller, Employer and Partnership Manager for the East Riding at Job Centre Plus said, “We’d like to thank all of the employers for coming along to the jobs fair today and making it such a success, it was great to see the amount of support from local organisations.  It’s also fantastic to see the fair at a new venue, bringing together jobs, training and education in one coordinated event.”
