L3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

Summary

Colley Farm Buildings is a family-run company specialising in portal steel-framed buildings across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, with over 50 years of industry experience and a strong focus on the agricultural sector. As a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, you will support the efficient running of the office at our Hutton Cranswick premises, providing administrative and sales support, assisting with yard sales, stock management, and billing, while working closely with the Buyer and Directors. This is a varied role combining office-based responsibilities with some outdoor sales activities, so candidates should be organised, proactive, and comfortable working outside when required.

What you’ll do at work

Administrative & Office Support
• Welcoming visitors, handling reception duties, and answering calls

Summary

Work

What you’ll do at work

  • Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures.

Castle Howard is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Bench Joiner to join its skilled team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical woodworking and joinery skills while helping to maintain, repair and preserve a wide range of historic buildings and estate properties. Castle Howard is a 300-year-old family home, a diverse working rural estate and an award-winning visitor attraction welcoming over 250,000 visitors each year.

Working alongside experienced joiners, you will gain hands-on experience in traditional and modern bench joinery techniques, producing and restoring timber products to a high standard. You’ll learn valuable skills in manufacturing, repairing and maintaining wooden structures while contributing to the conservation of a unique heritage environment.

This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, has an eye for detail and is looking to build a long-term career in a skilled trade.

Work

As an Apprentice Bench Joiner, you will:

  • Learn traditional and modern woodworking and joinery techniques.
  • Manufacture, repair and restore a variety of timber products.
  • Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber components.
  • Assist in the maintenance and preservation of historic buildings and estate properties.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Work alongside experienced craftspeople to develop practical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
  • Contribute to projects across the estate as required.

Training

Training will be delivered through a combination of workplace learning and attendance at East Riding College.

You will receive support from experienced professionals while developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve the Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship Standard.

After this apprenticeship
