L3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

Summary

Colley Farm Buildings is a family-run company specialising in portal steel-framed buildings across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, with over 50 years of industry experience and a strong focus on the agricultural sector. As a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, you will support the efficient running of the office at our Hutton Cranswick premises, providing administrative and sales support, assisting with yard sales, stock management, and billing, while working closely with the Buyer and Directors. This is a varied role combining office-based responsibilities with some outdoor sales activities, so candidates should be organised, proactive, and comfortable working outside when required.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Administrative & Office Support
• Welcoming visitors, handling reception duties, and answering calls

Summary

Gain hands-on experience in a busy, independent garage while working towards an Autocare Technician Level 2 qualification. You will learn to service, inspect and repair vehicles, use diagnostic tools, and develop skills in customer service, teamwork, and safe workshop practices.

Course contents

The Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to work within the automotive service and repair industry. Apprentices develop an understanding of health and safety procedures, workshop practices and the correct use of tools and equipment while learning how to carry out routine vehicle maintenance and inspections. The course covers essential areas including servicing procedures, tyres and wheel alignment, braking systems, steering and suspension, engine systems and basic electrical diagnostics. Learners gain hands-on experience in a workshop environment, allowing them to safely complete tasks such as oil and filter changes, brake replacement, tyre fitting and battery testing while following manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

Throughout the apprenticeship, learners also develop skills in customer service, workplace communication and diagnostic fault-finding using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment. Apprentices learn how to identify and report vehicle faults, interpret diagnostic information and complete service documentation accurately and professionally. The programme combines practical training, classroom-based theory and workplace experience to prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA) and employment within the automotive industry. By the end of the course, apprentices will be able to work safely, efficiently and professionally as competent Level 2 Autocare Technicians capable of supporting routine maintenance and repair operations in a modern workshop environment.

The company currently wishes to recruit a motivated Engineering Apprentice to work as part of the Dunbia (Carnaby) site Engineering Team. This represents an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled team with the potential for progress.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and full support of the whole engineering team the main duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Structured Training. Full support to achieve on and off the job experience whilst studying towards the apprenticeship programme.
  • Hands on guidance including regular progress reviews with dedicated team members provided workplace mentoring.
  • Apply knowledge gained during the apprenticeship and training into daily practice.

Course contents

The L2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for a successful career in engineering. Apprentices will gain experience in engineering principles, technical drawing, manufacturing processes, maintenance techniques, fault finding, quality assurance, and health and safety practices. The programme also covers problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and the use of industry-standard tools and equipment, enabling learners to contribute effectively within a modern engineering environment.

Your training plan

  • One day per week release to attend college
  • Training delivered by East Riding College

Qualifications

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) essential

Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

The successful candidate may have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship, depending on their academic grades and any relevant prior knowledge or experience. This can be discussed further during the interview process.

The Level 2 Food and Beverage Team Member Apprenticeship provides apprentices with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to deliver excellent customer service within hospitality settings. Apprentices will learn how to prepare and serve food and beverages, maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, handle customer enquiries professionally, and work effectively as part of a team. The programme also covers product knowledge, communication skills, health and safety procedures, stock control, and meeting customer needs while contributing to a positive dining experience. Throughout the apprenticeship, learners will develop their confidence, professionalism, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
