The Position

As a Data Services Assistant, you will process learner enrolments and registry data in line with College and audit requirements, ensuring records are accurate and processed promptly.  You will monitor the accuracy of learner documentation and inform the Data Services Manager of key issues and trends, and work closely with curriculum teams to provide advice and support on the correct completion of learner documentation, including enrolment forms and registers. 

The post will be based at our fantastic, state of the art site at Flemingate, Beverley, with some possible travel to our other College sites.

What we need from you

You will ideally have experience of data processing and administrative work, as well as experience of working within a team.  You will have excellent IT and communication skills, and the ability to work methodically with attention to detail.

You will be educated to Level 2 standard, including English and Maths, and have good organisational and prioritisation skills.

The Position

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the successful and valued Client Services team in a busy and varied role. As a Client Services Assistant, you will provide a reception service to students, staff and the general public, being a first point of contact for all face to face, telephone, email, web and postal enquiries.  You will be involved in processing learner enrolments, and provide administrative support for the College’s admissions process and learner financial support.  You will also provide information and advice on the courses offered by the College. 

This post will be based primarily at our fantastic, state of the art site at Flemingate, Beverley.

The working hours for this post will be Wednesday 1.00pm – 5.00pm Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm, and Friday from 8.30am until 4.30pm. During half terms and school holidays, and our busy enrolment periods there may be some flexibility required to meet service requirements.

What we need from you

You will have experience of working within a customer service or education environment and of dealing with enquiries in person, telephone and in writing.  You will have high order communication skills and IT skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and confidence in dealing with a wide range of customers.  You will be educated to level 2 standard (GCSE A* - C equivalent) including Mathematics and English, and have excellent organisational skills.

The Position

The Apprenticeship

The Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration aims to give people the skills and knowledge needed to work in administrative roles in a variety of organisations.  For the intermediate apprenticeship, these include administrators, office juniors, receptionist and junior legal or medical secretaries.

What will I study?

  • ·         Communication in a business environment
  • ·         Principles of providing administrative services
  • ·         Principles of business documentation production and information management
  • ·         Understanding employer organisations
  • ·         Managing personal performance and development
  • ·         Developing working relationships with colleagues

Plus optional units which suit the needs of the business.

The course will last approximately 12 months.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through observation, underpinning knowledge questions, online tests and assignments, plus the development of a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence.  There may also be a requirement to undertake level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.

The Position

As an Apprentice, you will support the Client Services team and the wider Learner Services teams in a variety of activities, including support for the Learner Personal Development Coaches, Learner Finance, Guidance team, and Sport and Enrichment service to gain an understanding of the range of Learner Services responsibilities.  You will act as an initial point of contact for our customers and learners working on our busy reception.  You will also provide input for initial support enquiries including responding to Learner Development Coaches and phone home requests.  You will provide underpinning administration for the College admissions process, enrolment process and learner financial support, as well as support for recording enrichment and sporting impact measures.

The post will be based at our state of the art site at Flemingate, Beverley, although some travel to our base at St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington, and St James Street, Hull, will be required.
