East Riding College is seeking to appoint an experienced and committed engineering professional to the position of Engineering Manager – Institute of Technology (IOT).

As Engineering Manager, (IOT), you will be responsible for the day to day management of the brand new IOT building with its state of the art facilities on our outstanding site at Flemingate in Beverley. In addition you will take a lead role in the development and delivery of the Engineering curriculum. You will be committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning, and strive to maximise student success.

What we need from you

You will either have recent and relevant teaching experience within engineering or be keen to pass on your engineering skills through developing your career in teaching. You must also be able to demonstrate your understanding of the different levels of engineering qualifications and your relevant engineering skills that will enable you to teach our learners.

You will have experience in one or more of the following skills:

  • Programming experience in CNC
  • Auto CAD up to Level 3
  • Milling Machining
  • Centre Lathe Turning
  • Engineering Maths and Science
  • Electronic Principals
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication

You will possess a minimum of a level 3 engineering qualification, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and possess or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or PGCE), the Assessors award (TAQA) and an IQA award. The College will provide support to achieve these qualifications.

The Position

 

As a CIPD Tutor, you will take a key role in the delivery and development of the College’s CIPD provision, and ensure that students are having the best experience possible at the College.  You will be teaching both Level 3 and Level 5 programmes.  You will be committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning, and strive to maximise learner success, achievement and retention.  The post will be based between our fantastic sites at Flemingate, Beverley and St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington.

 

Applicants will preferably have experience of delivering CIPD Level 3 and Level 5. 

Ideally, the successful applicant will possess a CIPD Level 5, a teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE), or be willing to work towards this, and hold or be willing to gain Level 2 (or equivalent) Literacy and Numeracy qualifications.  A specialist knowledge of employment law is desirable.

The Position

 

As a Tutor of Art and Fashion, you will take an active role in delivery of the related programmes, and review teaching inputs regularly to meet the changing needs of students and programmes.  You will take a key role in the development of the curriculum area, ensuring that students are having the best possible experience of College life.

East Riding College’s Creative arts and digital skills department delivers outstanding success and progression routes in both Curriculum and Apprenticeships.  The area delivers the curriculum from Level 1 though to Level 6. What we need from you

 

You will have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to the teaching of Fashion Design. You will lead a range of modules across the academic year specifically pattern cutting and design based with theoretical understanding at degree level. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of fashion programmes and night courses.

 

You must have experience and understanding of garment manufacturing and production, be able to assist students in the translation of 2D design into 3D design outcomes, and be able to teach a variety of established and creative cutting techniques for garment manufacture.

 

You will have recent experience of teaching students across all levels in FE and HE. You will be able to bring your experience of working in the creative industries and/or related research areas, to teach students design competencies in practice and theory.

 

You will possess a relevant level 3 qualification in a related subject area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and possess or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or PGCE).

What we need from you

You will have recent and relevant industrial experience within the travel industry, as well as of working as an independent travel agent.  Experience of working in line with ABTA requirements and using online booking platforms would also be desirable.

You will possess a relevant level 3 professional/vocational qualification in a related subject area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy.  An Assessors award would be desirable.
