The Position

As a Tutor of Computing, you will take an active role in delivery of the related programmes, and review teaching inputs regularly to meet the changing needs of students and programmes. You will take a key role in the development of the curriculum area, ensuring that students are having the best possible experience of College life.

You will be committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning, and strive to maximise learner success, achievement and retention. The post will be based at our state of the art campus at St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington, with some travel to our fantastic campus at Flemingate, Beverley.  This post is fixed term for up to 8 months to cover maternity.

East Riding College’s Creative arts and digital skills department delivers outstanding success and progression routes in both Curriculum and Apprenticeships.  The area delivers the curriculum from Level 1 though to Level 6. What we need from you

You will have recent and relevant industrial experience within the curriculum area, as well as of teaching within an educational environment. Knowledge of Computer Science, Hardware, Software Programming and Physical Computing is a requirement of role, along with knowledge of Office programmes.

You will possess a relevant level 3 qualification in a related subject area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and possess or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or PGCE). A Computing or Media Degree, or equivalent, with relevant experience, is essential.

The Position

What we need from you

You will have recent and relevant teaching experience within the curriculum area, as well as the ability to implement initiatives and other developments relevant to the curriculum area.  Mentoring experience, and knowledge of a range of qualifications within Construction and Engineering are essential to this role, and experience of course management and Further Education experience would be advantageous. 

You will possess a HNC/D in a related subject area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and possess or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or PGCE).  An Assessors award (TAQA) and an IQA award are also requirements of the role.

The Position

As the Learning and Development Coach you will provide training to our Hospitality learners in the College, workplace and training environment. You will assess learners in line with the full time study programmes and apprenticeship standards, reviewing their progress in the College and workplace and guiding them through the full time programme and apprenticeship. You will ensure that they are reviewed and tracked in accordance with the programme requirements, maintaining employer engagement at all times. You will be committed supporting your learners to maximise their achievements.

The role requires the successful applicant to work with our learners in our training restaurant at our Bridlington site on a Thursday, including evening service.

What we need from you

You will have recent and relevant industrial experience and experience of delivering training and assessing in a multi skilled range of Hospitality & Catering with a particular focus on Hospitality. You will understand assessment criteria, including End Point Assessment and have a detailed knowledge of Hospitality and Catering Standards. You will possess a level 3 in both Hospitality & Catering and a relevant Assessor qualification. You will also hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy and a teaching qualification, (Cert Ed/PGCE).
