The Role

As an Academic Mentor, you will assist academic staff in facilitating effective additional educational opportunities and support for learners to support the completion of their studies and future positive progression. You will support learners in their day to day activities, and be responsible for a caseload of learners that you will coordination and monitor for the full academic year.

We have four posts available; two based at our site at Flemingate, Beverley, and two at St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington. The posts are fixed term until 31 July 2021 in the first instance.

What We Need From You

You will have experience of delivering learning support, mentoring or coaching within an educational setting, as well as knowledge of a range of additional needs. You will possess a minimum of a Grade B/Level 6 or above in GCSE English and/or Mathematics, and have general educations to level 2 standard. A level 3 qualification in learning support, or a willingness to work towards this, would be advantageous.

The Role

As an AAT Tutor, you will take a key role in the delivery of the College’s highly successful AAT provision, and to assist in the development of the provision. You will be responsible for delivering theory sessions, using published resources, and supporting students in their acquisition of skills with a range of learning activities.   You will give students feedback on their progress, and prepare them for their examinations - all to maximise learner success, achievement and retention.

What We Need From You

You will have recent experience of teaching AAT level 2 and 3, as well as knowledge of AAT qualifications and syllabuses. You will have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in the subject area, and hold or be willing to gain a teaching Qualification – PTTLS/Cert Ed/PGCE. Ideally, you will also have experience of delivering online.
