The Position

What we need from you

You will have recent and relevant teaching experience within the curriculum area, as well as the ability to implement initiatives and other developments relevant to the curriculum area.  Mentoring experience, and knowledge of a range of qualifications within Construction and Engineering are essential to this role, and experience of course management and Further Education experience would be advantageous. 

You will possess a HNC/D in a related subject area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and possess or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or PGCE).  An Assessors award (TAQA) and an IQA award are also requirements of the role.

You will possess a relevant level 3 qualification in a related subject area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and possess or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification (Certificate in Education or PGCE).  An IT or Media Degree, or equivalent, is essential.

The Position

As an Apprentice, you will provide administrative support to the Human Resources team, ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient HR service.  You will be required to support the recruitment process, assisting in advertising vacancies, preparing interview packs, and monitoring applications, as well as preparing information for new employees to the College.  You will also support the Staff Development and Training function, ensuring College training records are accurate, as well as assisting in the booking of conferences, travel and accommodation.

The post will be based in our state of the art building in the busy Flemingate centre in Beverley.  As we support our staff across all our sites, some travel to our bases at St Mary’s Walk, Bridlington, and St James Street, Hull, may be required occasionally.

What we need from you

The Apprenticeship

The Position

As our Enrichment Officer, you will coordinate the cross College enrichment programme, including managing the College’s induction fairs, event organising, and developing activities and materials to support the tutorial provision.  You will work with external agencies, the Guidance team and Learner Development Coaches to ensure vulnerable learners are provided with support, as well as to promote, recruitment, train and support the College Help Crew, and other cross College roles as appropriate.  You will train learner representatives and encourage attendance at relevant Learner Voice meetings and committees. You will also ensure that the College has an active and effective Student Association, with all learners given the opportunity to join to the Student Union. 

The post will be based at one of our fantastic campus at Beverley or Bridlington, to be agreed with the successful applicant, but cover activity across all sites.   This position is full time, 37 hours per week. 

What we need from you

You will have recent and relevant experience of working with young people, and experience of delivering engaging activities with young people.  You will have knowledge and experience of working with a range of external agencies, as well as excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to learners, colleagues and external customers.

You will possess a relevant level 3 qualification in a related area, level 2 (or equivalent) literacy and numeracy, and a relevant specialist qualification at level 2 or above, for example, CEIAG, youth work or counselling.  A level 3 teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards this, would be desirable.

Governor Voluntary Role 19/03/2019 Beverley with occasional meetings at Bridlington View

The Governing Body of East Riding College is seeking to recruit new Governors who can bring a variety of strategic skills and experience to the role as well as dedication and passion.

We are looking for interest from motivated individuals with time to commit, from those with an interest in education and achieving high standards of learner achievements and experience working at a strategic level with a record of high performance.

East Riding College is a successful further education college with over 4,000 young people and adults accessing our wide range of academic, vocational and professional courses and apprenticeships. The number of young people, aged 16-19, enrolling at the College continues to grow as does the range and scope of our adult programmes with a significant increase in higher education (HE) provision in recent years.

The College plays an important role in supporting the growth of the regional economy and works closely with Local Enterprise Partnerships and employers to ensure the education and training programmes we offer are directly related to the skills required by local businesses.

In 2009, we opened a brand new campus in Bridlington, which won the prestigious title of ‘Best Educational Building in Yorkshire’ followed by our new state-of-the-art Flemingate Centre which opened in Beverley in 2015 and offers excellent facilities for staff and students.

Being a governor is a fantastic opportunity to give something back to the local community. Our primary focus is the teaching and learning experience of our students but it is also about ensuring the college assets – staff, facilities and finances – are strong and able to continue to meet the needs of the communities we serve. This voluntary role can also bring many personal and professional rewards such as boardroom experience, adding to your CV and a positive step towards long-term career development.

The work of the Corporation is undertaken through a series of regular Board and Committee meetings. Most governors attend around 8-12 formal meetings a year, alongside the opportunity to attend training/networking events and College events, for example, staff conferences, learner focus groups and award ceremonies. Meetings are held first thing in the morning or in the evening, mainly at our Beverley Campus.
