I'm 19 or over

Introduction

If you’re aged 19 or over, there are lots of options open to you at East Riding College. You can still choose to do a full-time further education course, you can enrol on a part-time or higher education course aimed at strengthening your CV or you can learn for leisure with our community learning courses. You could also begin an apprenticeship, no matter what your age.

Course fees and financial help

Unlike 16 to 18-year-olds, people aged 19 and over usually have to pay course fees, though some people qualify for free tuition and, in some cases, selected courses may be free. In response to the difficult economic climate, we’re doing our best to make education affordable and providing a range of services and facilities to ease the pressure on your pocket. Go to course fees and financial help for further details.

Free tuition and flexible payments

You could be eligible for free tuition, paying only the awarding body registration and examination fees, and you can pay by instalments if your course costs more than £300. People on active benefits* qualify for free tuition on all full-time and part-time courses and people without a full level two or full level three qualification are entitled to free tuition on a range of other courses. Find out more on the course fees and financial help page.

Traineeships

If you're aged 16 to 23 and would like to work but need work experience to strengthen your CV, Traineeships are ideal for you. Find out more about these short courses on our Traineeships page.
